SOUTHERN MAGNOLIA (Magnolia Grandiflora) is a large flowering tree of the Magnoliaceae family native to the Southeastern United States from North Carolina to Central Florida. It is incredible to see the large milky white magnolia flowers in bloom, since some measure over twelve inches in diameter.
Magnolias are thought to pre-date the bees and represent some of the oldest trees on earth. Fossilized trees from the Magnoliaceae family have been found dating back 95 million years ago.
