HONEY BEES (Apis Mellifera) often wander into my botanical photographic compositions, but usually end up as blurry shapes.  Every once in a while, I'm fortunate enough to capture one hovering over a flower or landing to collect some nectar and pollen.

There are only seven species of honey bees in the genus Apis.   They were first discovered in the fossil record about 34 million years ago.
